2017 Solar Eclipse

So, on Saturday, August 19th, 2017, we drove the 10-hour drive to North Carolina to view the solar eclipse. We went to view the total eclipse, instead of the partial we would get in Florida. Then, on August 21, we saw it. We drove up the Road to Nowhere (yes, that is a real road) to see it. We watched as the moon slowly covered the sun, waiting for totality. When it arrived, it got noticeably cooler and darker. For two minutes we had totality, and that was the coolest thing I have ever seen. totality and diamondWM

  1. We did not see the full eclipse, but we did see the partial eclipse in Florida. We caught the full eclipse on T.V., though. Where I was, during the eclipse, it was very oddly lit- like an LED light bulb was illuminating everything. It was noticeably cooler here too; you could stand right in the sun and it felt nice and not as hot as it should be. Did you happen to see all the crescent shapes under the trees when it was partial? If not, you can see my post about it, “Update: photos of Solar Eclipse.”
    Have a great day! 😀
