So, on Saturday, August 19th, 2017, we drove the 10-hour drive to North Carolina to view the solar eclipse. We went to view the total eclipse, instead of the partial we would get in Florida. Then, on August 21, we saw it. We drove up the Road to Nowhere (yes, that is a real road) to see it. We watched as the moon slowly covered the sun, waiting for totality. When it arrived, it got noticeably cooler and darker. For two minutes we had totality, and that was the coolest thing I have ever seen.
